 Verified We can't wait to go back!
We will continue to go back to Black Star Farms as long as they'll let us! This is one of the most gorgeous places on the planet, has the friendliest of all people who work throughout the property, and we appreciate the kingly way in which we are treated every time! Mitchell and David make sure we have everything we need for our stay, and this time we had the pleasure of the Executive Chef cooking breakfast for us... which was absolutely to die for!  Verified Fall Wine Tasting Get Away
This is a beautiful inn with comfortable rooms, great breakfast and excellent hospitality. The tasting room is steps away from the inn. We enjoyed beautiful fall colors. The setting is welcoming and relaxing. This is truly a perfect place in Northern Michigan for a getaway.

 Verified WOW, just WOW!!
What a fabulous venue! Our room was amazing! The staff was very friendly! The entire place was meticulously clean, quiet, and oh so cozy! And, there was certainly no shortage of things to do - right there on the property - no need to leave! Upon our arrival, we were greeted by David who deftly and quickly checked us in, then generously and proudly offered us a tour of the facility! He was warm, friendly, personable and knowledgeable and eager to please - what an asset Black Star Farms has in him! Breakfast was very tasty and flavorful and the coffee was superb - we even grabbed a 'to go' cup to take with us after enjoying our breakfast. This is how every Inn/Hotel/guest experience should be. Honestly there are too many wonderful things to say, and not one critique. Go to happy hour and meet the owner and other guests, Go to the winery and chat with the Vintner, Lee. We met the neighbor, Bill, while walking through the orchard, and even HE was great. Blackstar never disappoints!! The inn is absolutely beautiful. The staff is amazing and go above and beyond to meet your requests. They helped us find a company that would do in room massage. They also found us a ride share company so we could visit wineries and not worry about driving. Oh my goodness, the food: out of this world

 Verified Magnificent! Truly outstanding!
Our experience was nothing short of AMAZING!!! This was my second time staying at the Inn and it definitely won't be the last! God willing, that is! Our great time was largely due to the hospitality of David and Mitchell! Very thoughtful and accomodating! I can't say enough good things about them! Hands down the most enjoyable place to stay in the upper portion in the lower peninsula of Michigan! Quiet, relaxing, excellent breakfasts, and I highly recommend the raclette dinner! Did I mention the wine? Oh boy! Let's just say I bought plenty due to the excellent quality! The bottle in the room is a very nice white ..I bought 3 bottles..and I usually only drink red wine! Enough said!! I also bought red...the Gamay Noir is excellent! If you are looking for a pleasant and quiet place to stay (with excellent wine and service) your search is over! Love! Love!  Verified Luxurious and peaceful. Beautiful grounds.
We spent 3 days at the Inn. It is beautiful inside and out. We stayed in the Polaris room. It had a king size bed and walk in shower. The innkeepers were friendly and took great care of us. The food was great. We also visited the wine tasting room. It is a very peaceful and beautiful place. We will definitely be back!

Firstly, the property is fantastic. Some awesome walking trails, picturesque vineyards, stables area, horses and goats. The inn looks majestic and the accommodation is a perfect match. Tasting room was great as were the staff. Special shout out to Jill who really looked after us, and Kim for the informative and fun tour. We loved our stay there! Luxurious room. Evening wine and yummies was a nice way to meet other travelers. Wine tasting was great. Breakfast was amazing.  Verified Fantastic Escape!
Everything was wonderful—the kind welcome by David and Mitchell, the complimentary bottle of wine, beautiful room and comfortable beds, delicious hospitality hour, and terrific farm to table breakfasts. Love walking in the orchard paths. We look forward to coming here every summer while our children are at summer camp. There is so much to do nearby. We rent bikes and tour the Leelanau Bike Trail, and check out many of the nearby wineries and HopLot! Highly recommend Black Star!
